Burnouts

FATRAT Night Run (c) Tim Nicol PhotographyThe most outrageous and exciting part of the Red CentreNATS is the burnouts, and there’ll be tyre shredding action a plenty in the smoke storm at the Alice Springs Inland Dragway Burnout Pad.

There will be not one, but two burnout competitions at the Red CentreNATS.

The Burnout Masters will feature twenty invited cars and drivers who will battle out for trophies, prize money and an opportunity for the top three to win entries to the Ultimate Burnout Masters at Summernats 30, Canberra in January 2017. The Burnout Masters started at the Summernats many years ago, and the burnout pad is still the coliseum where Australia’s Burnout Masters come to battle … to the death (engine-wise).

The Red CentreNATS Burnout Competition will be open to all Entrants with trophies and prize money on offer and there may be an additional prize to be announced at the Event.

Drag Racing

Drag Racing Red CentreNATSAlice Springs Inland Dragway (ASID) is the place to be, not only for plenty of Burnout action, but also for Drag Racing. On Saturday watch plenty of heads up action as Red CentreNATS Entrants qualify to progress through to the Drag Racing Finals on Sunday. There’s bound to be plenty of action as seasoned Drag Racers, along with novice drivers, take on the ASID quarter mile. All Entrants are encouraged to enter in the Drag Racing competition.  All vehicles will be catered  for so come and race your mates or lay down a challenge to see who’ll become the Red CentreNATS Drag Racing Champion.

All vehicles competing in Drag Racing at The Red CentreNATS will be scrutineered prior to commencing in Drag Racing competition, this is in addition to Event Scrutineering during Registration for The Red CentreNATS.  All vehicles competing in Drag Racing will need to meet the standards expected for Drag Racing events conducted throughout Australia.  For further information, please contact The Red CentreNATS Office on (02) 6241 7949.

Motorkhana

MotorkhanaMotorkhana is a driving event all about accuracy and skill. Competitors will only have seconds to maneuvre their way, sliding and spinning, through one very tight, short course without incurring any penalties.

Vehicle speeds will be low and driven in first or second gear but the tightness of the course will ensure the driver will be kept very busy.

All Entrants are welcome to have a go.

Red CentreNATS Street Parade

Red CentreNATS Street Parade

Join the Red CentreNATS Street Parade!

The Red CentreNATS Street Parade will see all entrants drive their cars through the streets of Alice Springs in a massive convoy during the Red CentreNATS weekend.

All vehicles participating in the parade will need to be Entered in Red CentreNATS and be registered or have a Temporary Licence.

More details will be available closer to the event.

Town Cruising

TNP RCN2015-1570An essential part of the Red CentreNATS will be the Town Cruising, as owners take their cars from one area of the event to another, or just simply cruise around the streets of Alice. There will be street cruising on the roads in and around Alice daily. Over the Red CentreNATS weekend an Alice Springs Street Parade will take place where cars will be driven on a set route.

This will be your opportunity to see many of the entered cars in motion and an added attraction will be the Temporary Licence, which will allow unregistered vehicles to be driven on the streets during certain hours and within certain zones.

Find out more about the Temporary Licence.

If you are entering a registered car, you will not have to worry about applying for the Temporary Licence.

Show n Shine

Unveiling (c) Tim Nicol PhotographyAfter the hectic pace of the Drag Strip and Burnouts, once the smoke has cleared and the roar of revving engines and screaming tyres has subsided, take some time to relax at Blatherskite Park and take in the spectacle of the Show ‘n Shine.

Take a walk around the cars, a number of which will have just been given a quick wash before being put on display, while others will have had countless hours spent on them by their owners cleaning, polishing and waxing their pride and joy.

All cars entered are important to the success of the Red CentreNATS and whether they are being judged or not, their owners will be aiming to impress and more than happy to talk about their machines, there’ll be plenty of photo opportunities as well.

Dyno Cell

On the rollers (c) Tim Nicol PhotographyWhether you talk in Kilowatts or Horsepower you’ll be blown away, as over two days, cars will be tied down to a Dynamometer Bed with each one’s engine straining to deliver every last measure of True Grunt as the entrants tweak and tune their beasts to determine who will be Red CentreNATS Dyno Winner.
